Dylan Tucker Go Kart Racing!
Biography

Who is Dylan Tucker?

Dylan was born 3/28/2000 the son of Darren & Kari Tucker of Beach City, Ohio. He has a sister Emily and a dog Mocha. Other than racing go karts, Dylan also enjoys playing video games, watching Star Wars Clone Wars, building with Legos, playing with his cousin Garrick (who often helps at the race track) and going hunting and fishing with his dad. His favorite Football team is the Pittsburg Steelers. His favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dylan started racing at 7 yrs old in the 50cc kid kart class then at 8 yrs old moved up to Jr Sportsman Champ Purple Plate. He was the 2007 and 2008 Class Champion in each of those classes in the Midvale Karting Series.

During the 2008 season, Dylan was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition known as Long QT Syndrome. Long QT does not allow him to play any of the "ball" type sports. Since Dylan has never had any symtoms and there is no family history of symptoms, his heart Dr. has cleared him to continue racing. The only stipulation he had was that we needed to have an A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrilator) with him at the track. Thanks to a donation from the wonderful folks at Cardiac Science, Dylan can continue to chase his dream of one day becoming a proffesional driver! We are truly blessed to have "stumbled" on to  Dylan's condition the way we did (without symptom). We have educated ourselves about it and we are prepared to react in the event of a symptom.

Dylan has set a goal of winning the WKA "Eagle" Trophy and Champions Ring!

My Racing Experience:

o       2007 – My first year of racing, I was the 50cc Champion in the Midvale Karting Series.

o       2008 – I was the Jr Sportsman Champ Rookie Champion in the Midvale Karting Series. Also, during the 2008 season I was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition known as “Long QT Syndrome”. Long QT doesn’t allow me to play “ball” type sports or even participate in Phys-Ed class. My doctor has allowed me to continue racing as long as I have an A.E.D. (automated external defibrillator) with me at the track. Thanks to a donation of an A.E.D. from the wonderful folks at Cardiac Science, I can continue to chase my dreams.

o       2009 - I finished 3rd in points in the  Jr Sportsman Champ class in the Midvale Karting Series competing against kids that were 2-3 years older than I am! In 2009 I also raced my first season in the WKA (World Karting Assoc.) Pavement Nationals. I finished 11th in both classes that I compete in. The WKA is a whole different level of competition that has competitors from all over the country. We raced in North Carolina, Indiana, New York, and Pennsylvania.
